There's a certain charm to the reviews from satisfied customers that paints a vivid picture of the culinary experience here. Take, for instance, Tracy Sommo Blum's experience with the New England clam chowder, fried shrimp, and the star of the show: whole belly clams. The praise for the onion rings indicates that every dish here is crafted with care and precision, a testament to the talent of Patricia and her family, who come with experience from Captain Seas.
The star feature of Lighthouse Seafood & Grill is undoubtedly their fried offerings. As noted by another reviewer, the fish and chips are nothing short of spectacular—light and crunchy batter encasing perfectly cooked, flaky fish. This attention to quality creates an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Each dish is cooked to order, showcasing the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dedication is further evident in their delightful lobster rolls, which not only offer great value but also impress with a delightful crunch—thanks to just the right amount of celery in the mix.
The atmosphere, described by some as cozy, even with its unique upstairs dining area, adds to the overall experience. The ambiance invites patrons to sit back and enjoy not just the food, but also the warmth of the setting. It’s a place that feels both welcoming and intimate, making it ideal for casual or family dining.

“ This is a great local seafood restaurant that is new in town. It is primarily set up as a take out restaurant, but there is a small dining room upstairs for those who wish to dine in. The main focus of their menu is fried seafood and they certainly do that well, but there is also a variety of other options on their menu as well. If you're looking for seafood in the area or just a new local restaurant I would definitely recommend giving it a try. ”
“ The service was terrific and the hot lobster was great and well priced! It was served with butter on the side so you could add as much as you like! We went because my mother wanted whole belly clams and she said they were excellent! ”
“ Great price on the lobster rolls! Both hot and cold were delicious. The cold had a fantastic crunch thanks to the perfect proportion of celery. We also couldn’t resist their clams. The batter was light and clams perfectly cooked, almost fluffy. ”
“ My father in law was visiting and really wanted seafood so we decided to stop at Lighthouse. Good move. This place was great. He loved his fish and chips, my lobster roll was delicious and my wife loved her salad with chicken. It was a little warm upstairs, but it was also 95 degrees outside. The young man who greeted us was super nice and brought us a fan. Definitely a place worth your time and money. ”
“ Back again‼. Had the best dinner tonight at Lighthouse Seafood and Grill in Portland! New England clam chowder, fried shrimp, fried calamari, whole belly clams, scallops and soft shell crab. The onion rings!! Patricia, formerly at Captain Seas, and her family have outdone themselves! It’s the best kept secret - I’ll be back! OFTEN! ¡Felicidades y mucho éxito! No room for rice pudding tonight but oh the rice pudding! ”
“ I've eaten there twice and the food is very good. It seems to be reasonably priced as well. I felt the service was very good and the people were nice. Atmosphere is a little weird. It's certainly not bad but it just kind of throws you off when you're upstairs, and the spacing and the decor. But overall it's a nice little place! I'd certainly recommend it. ”
“ We stopped by here to check them out I had the best fish and chips. The batter was perfect light and crunchy. And the fish was perfectly cooked moist and flakey you can tell they use quality fresh fish, and everything is Cooked to order , I was so pleased. I’m stopping by every Friday during lent. The dinning room was also very cozy. We sat by the fire place it was a nice place all and all. I definitely recommend checking them out! ”
